Interns join DMTC for Land Forces 2022

On the second day of Land Forces 2022, DMTC Ltd hosted a delegate day for its Industry Capability Development program. DMTC’s Delegate Day provided attendees with an opportunity to meet other program participants from across Australia and hear how DMTC’s leadership of capacity-building and technology transfer activities closely aligns with Defence’s focus on increasing opportunities for Australian industry, with the aim of better supporting the warfighter. Supporting interns to build Australia’s sovereign capability

Through our Education portfolio, DMTC is committed to boosting the pipeline of young, innovative Australians progressing from academic study to employment in defence industry and related fields – investing in the future workforce necessary to develop Australia’s defence industrial base. DMTC’s Industry Capability Development program proudly supports internship opportunities for undergraduate students across engineering, computer science and software development disciplines. These internships provide mutual benefits to both the student and to industry partners as they progress along their digital transformation journey. One of our interns, Thomas Hughes (an undergraduate student at Deakin University), kindly sat down with DMTC to talk about his internship experience and how DMTC’s support has shaped his future career path.

Blowing in the wind: New modelling tools under development

Researchers at the University of Sydney will work with DMTC and Defence scientists on a collaboration to enhance atmospheric transport and dispersion modelling and simulation tools used to predict the spread of airborne hazards in urban environments.

EOIs sought for collaborative projects in medical countermeasures

With support from Defence’s Next Generation Technologies Fund, the Medical Countermeasures (MCM) Program led by Health Security Systems Australia (HSSA) is currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for collaborative project proposals focused on priority themes including: anti-infective therapeutics, including against antimicrobial resistance; vaccine products or platform technologies for infectious disease threats; and medical countermeasures against chemical threats.
