Minister Pyne delivers keynote address at DMTC Conference
Australia’s Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP, has paid tribute to the technology breakthroughs achieved by DMTC and its industry and research partners.
“I congratulate DMTC and its industry and research partners on their impending celebration in July of 10 years of service and commitment to enhancing Australia’s Defence and national security.”
The Minister was speaking at DMTC’s annual conference, for which industry and research partners converged from across Australia and overseas.
Minister Pyne paid tribute to the quality of the research underpinning DMTC’s collaborative activities.
“Whether we are talking basic or applied research, Australian researchers have almost always got what it takes for the job. Where they don’t have it, they are possessed of the standing and reputation globally to go out and find partners who do. And that didn’t come easily. This is innovation personified.”
The Minister noted the ongoing role for and continuing growth of DMTC activity, with the prospect of more than a dozen new industry and research partner organisations joining it in the first half of 2018 alone.
The Minister concluded by thanking all members of the DMTC community for their role as part of the great national enterprise supporting ADF capability and building a sovereign industrial base.
