Innovation Hub contracts announced
The Minister for Defence Industry has announced the award of a new Innovation Hub contract to be delivered through DMTC Ltd and its industry and research partners.Minister Pyne said the contracts announced would further develop innovative technologies to maintain the ADFs warfighting advantage.
DMTC’s project will advance the development of lighter body armour for soldiers with improved protection levels and functional integration. It builds on work already completed with the Diggerworks organisation – an award-winning partnership involving DMTC, the Australian Army and the Department of Defence (through DST Group and CASG).
DMTC CEO Mark Hodge said every dollar of the contract would be passed through to DMTC’s industry and research partners.
“The Defence Innovation Hub is supporting Australian industry throughout all development stages of the innovation process,” Minister Pyne said.
“Investing in Defence innovation will not only build the innovation capabilities of Australian industry and research organisations, it will also deliver innovative capability solutions for use by Defence.”
