DMTC’s 2012 Annual General Meeting was held on 8 November at 24 Wakefield St. Hawthorn, immediately following a detailed briefing on DMTC progress, plans and strategic issues provided to Participant organisations.
Members unanimously endorsed the company strategic plan, aimed at developing future programs for DMTC and further indicated commitment for continued support to DMTC beyond the current contract period.
Bronwyn Constance, Peter Jonson, Roger Lough and David StJohn were re-elected to the Board of Directors, having renominated after compulsory retirement in accordance with the DMTC Constitution.

Best poster presentation prize ($1,000) awarded to R. Orr – “Load carriage: reductions in soldier task performance and risks posed”
1st runner-up for best paper ($1,500) awarded to P. Phillips & S. Cimpoeru – “A systems view of vehicle landmine survivability”
Winner, best paper ($2,500) awarded to M. Hossny – “Low cost multimodal facial recognition via Kinect sensors”
DMTC congratulates the winners and all honorable mentions.

This next presentation titled ‘Achievements and Opportunities in the Maritime Sector’ will discuss a number of technical outcomes of the DMTC Maritime Program to date and provide insight into where DMTC can provide support to future sustainment and acquisition programs. The technical discussion will also present examples of cross-disciplinary utilisation of technology, and discuss opportunities to leverage successes in the Land and Air sectors into the Maritime domain.
Posted by DMTC on August 14th, 2012 DMTC congratulates Tom Radtke, Head, Physical Protection, Human Protection and Performance Division, Defence Science and Technology Organisation on receiving a DSTO Bronze Level Commendation. The commendation recognises Tom’s ongoing leadership and personal drive which has shaped the capability of the Physical Protection Group. His commendation also notes how the collaborative approach he takes has made him a valued contributor to Diggerworks outcomes and partner with the Defence Materials Technology Centre.
DMTC looks forward to continuing to work with Tom in the Personnel Survivability Program to deliver new technology concepts that contribute to reducing the burden and increasing the survivability of the combat soldier.
