Aircraft Platforms
Research projects in the Aircraft Platform program will focus on developing composites, building components for aircraft engines, developing domestic manufacturing capacity to sustain components and developing health monitoring systems to detect defects.
Armour Applications
The Armour Applications program will focus on ways to reduce weight and increase payload and mobility while providing superior platform personnel protection. Short-term solutions to operational requirements of Defence as well as longer-term investigations will be explored.
Maritime Platforms
Maritime Platforms at the centre of this program include surface ships and submarines. Projects will examine the structural integrity and fitness for purpose for surface and submarine components, electromagnetic shielding, frequency selective services and structural health monitoring systems.
Propulsion Systems
The Propulsion Systems program will provide scientific and technological support to production and through-life management for current and future defence air platforms. Among the many benefits will be the development of new technologies to restore and enhance structures and components.
